The Refugee Week Malta 2023
For the second time, I conducted creative workshop for Refugee Week Malta. This year, we had focus on photography as a powerful tool to share and build memories and look deeper on a new country where we are living. And later, we took portraits of each other playing with our image and culture.
The Refugee Week Malta 2022
I conducted various of creative workshops according to the discussions I had with the six participants and their desires, needs and skills. We created a pop-up exhibition in a real estate agency displaying paints, poteries, videos, objects and we have created our own "advertising" in the main window.
"The workshops weren’t structured like an art academy, where everyone would be asked to copy or focus on the same subject. Instead, I decided to go for creative-participative activities, which help us all learn about each other. Thematically, we focused on ‘culture shock’ and the notion of home. I also wanted to help participants to continue developing their own practice, while also making sure that those with no background in the arts can feel comfortable to create and form part of the project."
